Q24 Plus - SIM NOT ALLOWED FOR THIS MODULE

Hello experts,

I just bought a Q24 plus module from China. I set frequency band to “BI8501900”, but when I inserted SIM card(AT&T), the module responded “SIM NOT ALLOWED FOR THIS MODULE”. What should I do, please? Thanks a lot.

Get a SIM that is allowed?

To find out what SIMs are allowed by that module, you will have to contact the module supplier…

The module supplier said it should can be used in the USA. Is there any other way I can try to resovle the problem, please? Thanks so much.

and you’re basing that on what?

you can buy region locked versions of the wavecom products.
a simple firmware-upgrade is not going to help for that.

1.4.6 Software Behavior
The use of Wireless CPU® for not allowed countries is forbidden. In this case, the message “SIM NOT ALLOWED FOR THIS Wireless CPU®” is sent, the Wireless CPU® reset and AT SIM commands are then no more possible.
The Wireless CPU® upgrade by using a specific country lock version is not reversible. Effectively, all Wireless CPUs upgrade performed by using such a version won’t be able to use previous software version. In this case, a message “BAD SOFTWARE” will be displayed.
