problems after at+wdwl

#1

Hi there,

Wondering if anybody can help, ive initially tired to update the firmware to wipsoft with no success only to find my self half way through with no response from the modem. Now the red light doesn’t come on at all nor does it respond to AT handshake command within hyperterminal. These are the files given to me by the distributor (not in order of installation)

WIPSoft_v202[1].wpb.dwl
w.dwl
dwl.dwl
657c_full_A&D_init_q2406b.dwl

Ive included below text commands/responses from the hyperterminal session, Any ideas on how to get the fastrack modem up and running again as I cant get the thing to respond let alone update it with new files

When a download is interrupted (as it seems to have happened to you), basically you have left the modem clean (without any software). The only way to get the modem working again is to use a special download software. In my country, my local retailer does not provide me with it, in change I have to send him those “half-downloaded” modems so they can reanimate them. But I know some other people distribute it, ask your retailer.

I’ve experienced that a lot of times. It usually happens when you use an USB-RS232 adaptor and 1k-Xmodem protocol for the download (protocol Xmodem gives better results).

Note that Wavecom’s XMODEM downloading does seem to require the use of hardware flow control.

That could well suggest that you have a flow-control problem: the modem’s buffers are probably sufficient that they can always cope with the 128 byte XMODEM blocks…

The trouble is, of course, that this is much slower than 1K-XMODEM!

Hi

I am trying to flash a Q2403 module. When typing the AT+WDWL command I only recieve “ERROR” as a reply. not the symbols to start the download. What is the exact procedure to follow? please help, it would be much appreciated. I`m a bit new at this.
