Passive Signal Parameters with AT Commands

Hi all,
Are the passive signal parameters, e.g. RSSI, measured periodically, per packet or upon my request with the corresponding AT Command? I am using the Sierra Wireless AirPrime EM7565 module.

They are instantaneous values read from the signalling stack when the command is sent.

Thank you Matt @mlw . And how often are the values in the signalling stack updated? With every packet, periodically or upon my request with the AT command?

On a second by second basis because the cell selection algorithm is permanently running.
