I added an FX30S to Octave. But the model name in the Octave Hardware section is showing FX30 instead.
Anyone know what did I do wrong? Anyone can help me to make Octave recognize this device as FX30S? I need the UART1 to set as RS485 for my project.
I found ATI3 also showing FX30, instead of FX30S.

Hi jameshorng,
Please try to update to the latest firmware FX30S with WP7702 3.1.0 version and then share with me the response of ATI3, ATI8 commands.
You can get it here Latest Octave Firmware
Hi, Donald,
I’m using 3.2.0 rc 7 FW now. Is it OK to downgrade to 3.1.0?
The following is the notice for FX30 in the 3.2.0 rc release note.
Once upgraded to 3.2.0, a FX30 must not be downgraded to an earlier version. It can cause the device to fail to communicate.
Hi James,
Could you try to delete and add the device again as an FX30S?
Did remove and add device as FX30S. But on Octave, it is still showing as FX30 with eth0, instead of FX30S with UART1.
Count you send me the IMEI and FSN?

ATI3 showing FX30 instead of FX30S. Could AT!RMARESET=1 changed some setting for FX30S?

Hi jameshorng,
jameshorng:
AT!RMARESET=1
The !RMARESET command: Restore the device to its original provisioned (OEM default) state, or to the latest backed-up state.
Please provide the following AT command log:
AT!ENTERCND=“A710”
AT!RMARESET=3
AT!RESET
ATI3
After AT!RMAREST=3, ATI3 still showing FX30.
Hi jameshorng,
Incorrect model name comes from the latest FW 3.2.0 and Sierra prevents devices being downgraded from 3.2 to a lower release. You should email to Sierra or distributor for this issue.
Thanks,
I’m not sure if this is caused by 3.2 upgrade yet because I haven’t had chance to try it on different FX30S. Have you duplicated this issue on your FX30S?
