Currently have dev board used to load firmware on MC7710 QMI (PC is Windows). Wanted to check a few items
- Is there a way to verify the firmware was loaded?
- Way to verify if the modem works?
- Can we check a MC7710 DirectIP?
- Is there drivers for Linux to use the dev board to do #1-3?
Hi,
please fine the answers inline…
-
Is there a way to verify the firmware was loaded?
you can connect the module and can check the FW version by giving ATI3 to AT command port.
-
Way to verify if the modem works?
you can connect the modem and see whether it is responding to AT command or not…
-
Can we check a MC7710 DirectIP?
AT!UDINFO? will give you the interface as Direct IP or QMI.
you can refer the AT command manual…

Thanks for your help! able to run AT commands and identify issues with our modems.
One more question:
- There is one modem that should be DirectIP that is missing AT Commands port and CNS port. It appears to have same characteristics as QMI modem. Is there a way to convert back to DirectIP if it was changed unintentionally?
Modem type: MC7710
SKU# 1101363
Firmware ver should be SWI9200X_03.00.08.02AP R3715 CARMD-EN10526 (unable to find this version online)
i was able to convert to DIP using a custom fixture (68A3).
Right now TeraTerm is unable to connect to the AT command port from a dev board on windows PC. Still troubleshooting why it does not show any serial ports
Could you please explain how you got this working? I have an MC7700 that i can confirm is Direct-IP but I cannot get windows drivers to recognize it. Only the cns port is displayed in device manager (assigned to com port 6) and watcher cannot detect it. Alternatively is there a way to convert it to QMI? I have tried this in both windows 7 and 8.1 without success.
Thanks
