Manually added APN resets to default (iot.swir) on mangOH yellow

Hello,

Sim card - Vodafone sim card
APN - web.vodafone.de
MangOH yellow has Octave apps already included in the firmware installed.
I have also disabled cloudInterface [Stopped].

Problem - I am trying to set web.vodafone.de APN but sometimes it shows the output and sometime it resets to default APN (iot.swir) when I check cm data again and again in the same session. I am not sure what is the problem But I want my mangOH yellow to use only web.vodafone.de

Also let me know if there is any option available to do this without flashing the Octaveless firmware?

Please somebody guide me. @jyijyi @alberthuang

you might need to disable the app one by one to see which one causes the problem:

Or you can write a script to periodically setting the APN by AT+CGDCONT or “cm data”.

I have connected to APN, But it will again disappear i guess, I will try to disable octave specific apps.

for now @jyijyi can you tell me why the module is not getting registered on network?
Is it in my hand to make it registered? find below snap for more details

what are the return of the followings?

i think you should not use the SIERRA PRI.
Have you tried the latest firmware with GENERIC PRI?

https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp77xx/wp77xx-firmware-release-15,-d-,1/#sthash.zJncXdl3.dpbs

BTW, since you have set LTE-Cat M mode in AT!SETCIOT, did your SIM card OK to register LTE CAT-M network?

Lastly, the RSRP in AT!GSTATUS? is quite bad, you might need to check the antenna.

I have connected the main antena to the board but I have not touched any of the dip switches (SW403). Do I need to change any of the 8 buttons to enable the main antena?

Also how to check this “BTW, since you have set LTE-Cat M mode in AT!SETCIOT, did your SIM card OK to register LTE CAT-M network?“

please give me commands

You can ask vodafone directly

Btw, you can also check if it can register gsm network by setting at!selrat

Lastly, have you tried the latest firmware with GENERIC PRI?

Hello, Please find the snap below to check my progress. I could achieve this by removing cloudInterface and dataHub with below commands
app remove cloudInterface”
”app remove dataHub”

It also stopped some of the other programms including helloYellow(Tricolor blinking) programm on my board.

is it correct method or I should not remove these two?

I am not sure after this I am suppose to change the firmware or not as you mentioned below
”GENERIC PRI”

Didn’t it can ping now?

did not get you? should I ping again from shell?

If now it can ping server, didn’t it mean the sim card is working fine?

What is the problem now?

The ping is working fine from shell. I think the Simcard is working fine

I have one question.

I have removed the cloudInterface and dataHub from the available firmware by below commands
app remove cloudInterface”
”app remove dataHub”

so is it okay to remove them or i should not remove them and install new octaveless firmware?

I have no idea about this as you are using octave firmware

If you are not using octave stuff, why don’t you just use the normal firmware?

I am actually new to mangOH yellow setup hence I do not know much details about the firmware packages and their costs probably.

The board I have bought already has a firmware including octave apps. and octave is free of cost for first 3 months of trial.

right now I only want to use mangOH yellow as a USB to cellular modem type. so I did not need octave.

But I will try to install Generic PRE suggested by you which is octaveless. Thank you.

Do you know correct command to change the interface from rmnet_data0 to ECM

the AT commands are giving me error while changing the interface via bitmask manipulation.
by default it is taking rmnet_data0

I want my laptop to use the internet from mangOH yellow vodafone simcard via USB (ECM)
