How can I build gobinet in OPENWRT 22.03.3

which module are you using?

BTW, does this help?

Hi @jyijyi ,

I use WP7607 ,
and I following “openwrt添加USB網卡驅動(SIERRA) - 台部落

but It seen not work.

Does gobinet driver support kernel 5.10 ?

you can see here:

BTW, Gobinet has been end of life…
we need to move to MBPL

Hi @jyijyi ,

I just want to try it do you have any idea ?

no, i have never tried on openwrt

Hi @jyijyi ,

Thanks, Does it can porting to kernel 5.10.XX ?

why don’t you use MBPL?

this user uses MBPL with openwrt kernel 5.10

Hi @jyijyi ,

What should I disable kernel module in kernel when I use MBPL?

why did you need to disbale kernel module?

BTW, you can read the user guide of MBPL here:

Hi @jyijyi ,

Because I saw kernel has some like “sierra” , so I don’t know I should disable it or not?

seems that flag is for gobiserial, not for MBPL:

anyway, you need to make some test in both case to see what happens

Hi @jyijyi ,

What is different between usb_wwan, sierra_net, usbnet and qmi_wwan ?

you can read the comment here:

usbnet is from Gobi driver which is not recommended to be used anymore
sierra_net is for some old product…

Hi @jyijyi ,

Does it have conflict issues ?

Mbpl driver cannot use together with gobi driver

Hi @jyijyi ,

If I use MBPL what depends like ?

DEPENDS:=+kmod-usb-core kmod-usb-serial

i never used operwrt, you need to make some test

Hi @jyijyi ,

Should I use option.c when I use MBPL ?

no, i don’t think so

Hi @jyijyi ,

Thanks for your reply. I will disable option.c in my platform.
