HL8548 difference between old and new version, cops printing

Hello,
We have HL8548 modems with old firmware (5.5.22.0) and with new (5.5.26.0).
Modems with old firmware, when startup print lines:
+CREG:2
+CREG:5
+COPS: 0,0, “Telia LT”,2 line.
And modems with new version print only:
+CREG:2
+CREG:5
Is it possible to configure modems with new firmware to print COPS line at startup?

Hi mindaugas.s,

This is not an unexpected unsolicited response and it should not be displayed at the startup. Therefore, printed lines in new version are correct.

Thanks,

We are connecting modems to converters. The converters has connection to the network only using modems with the old firmware (5.5.22.0) version. When we are using modems with the new firmware (5.5.26.0) version, converters don’t have connection with network, the modems configuration is the same, and the only difference between them is startup print line +COPS: 0,0, “Telia LT”,2.

Hi mindaugas.s,

I’m sure that the missing +COPS line does not cause this issue.

What type of converters are you using? Could you describe your setup and the commands you use to initiate a connection?

Thanks,

Hi,

We are using Valsena dkk-64 converter. We are set only this commands to the modem:
ats0=1
at+ifc=0,0
at+ipr=9600
At+kgpio=7,0
At+ksleep=2
And the connection is initiated by a converter.
Maybe the connection initiation commands are different between versions (5.5.22.0 and 5.5.26.0)?

Hi mindaugas.s,

Please try the following commands:

ats0=1
at&k3
at+ipr=9600
at&w

Then reboot the device and initiate a connection.

If it’s not successful, please enter command AT&V and send me responses

Thanks,

Hi jerdung,

I tried your recommend commands, but connection still not working.
After command AT&V, I get this:

Hi @jerdung ,

Also converter manufacturers sent me a log, what commands converter send to the modem to make connection.

ATE0

+CGDCONT?

+CGDCONT=1,“IP”,“gprs.tel.rst.lt”

ATDT * 99 ***1#
CONNECT

Hi mindaugas.s,

I’ve checked your AT&V response and it’s OK.

ATDT command is issued to make ppp connection.

If your old firmware work well, please keep using it and wait for the next firmware.

Thanks,
