Fastrack Xtend replaces Fastrack Extreme

Following careful consideration of the impact the new Fastrack Xtend has on the lesser functioned Fastrack Extreme, Sierra Wireless has decided to place the Fastrack Extreme in to it’s “obsolete” category. This means that the product will no longer be made available.

The primary reason for this decision has been the significant benefits that the Fastrack Xtend offers as follows:

  • Programmable GPIO voltages
  • Native USB (mini)
  • Optional slide on external battery pack
  • Ultra low power mode with wake up signal
  • Available in multiple versions: GSM/GPRS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSPA and CDMA 1xRTT
  • Hosting of C and/or Lua applications
  • Expansion card compatibility

A preliminary version of the technical specification has already been posted in the Fastrack Xtend page http://www.wavecom.com/modules/movie/scenes/products/index.php?fuseAction=download&key=fe9844deede292248eb870ee348ccff4&file=020_Hardware+documentation%2F030_Specifications+and+User+Guides%2FFastrack+Xtend+preliminary+specification.pdf
