I’m testing a EM8695 (NR-RedCap) module and need access to the protected AT command set.
In the EM8695 AT Command Reference, it states that AT!ENTERCND enables access to additional/lower-level commands (including commands needed for custom band selection / band masks). Our goal is to set a custom band selection to steer the modem toward an NR-RedCap NSA-capable serving cell, so we can verify 5G NSA operation with our current operator.
We purchased the device through a third-party distributor and did not receive any password or provisioning information. We’re therefore unsure whether a default password exists for this unit, or whether the password is provisioned per-device during manufacturing.
Could you please advise:
Whether the EM8695 has a universal default AT!ENTERCND password, or if it is unique per device/build.
If it is unique, what is the correct process to retrieve or reset it for our module (e.g., what identifiers you need from us such as IMEI/serial/firmware/PRI).
An improved approach for testing NR-RedCap NSA if our current one seems sub-optimal.
Yes, the documentation says that after running AT!ENTERCND=<password> correctly AT!ENTERCND? will print the password back. This does not happen with “A710”. After trying to create a custom band it returns ok but does not change to this new band, and it does not show up as a possibility.
at!entercnd=“A710” OK AT!ENTERCND? OK
