I saw on source that there is a a new firmware SWI9X30C_02.23.00.00 for the EM7455 modem, but only for Vodafone. Is this firmware compatible with all devices?
Or better, when is the 02.23 available for the Generic model? I don’t think the 7430 Generic firmware would be compatible.
But I assume there is a reason they list specific versions for each modem. Either certification or some known issue. So you may want to stay with the officially supported combinations to avoid any problem.
I have 10 Lenovo Thinkpads with EM7455 modems and yesterday each laptop informed me that there was an update to the Sierra Wireless Software for the EM7455 and after processing the update on one of the laptops, I noticed that the firmware was not what the website was showing but instead was showing 02.23.00.00.
I would love to see the changelog for the new firmware, but I do not see anything on it on the source area of the website yet.
Not likely. That issue is not related to suspend or control packets.
And why would it matter anyway? The workaround prevents the problem, and the additional 10ms startup delay is insignificant compared to the modem boot time.
I have upgraded firmware for my Generic EM7455 to wrong firmware (AT&T SWI9X30C_02.20.03.00 PRI 002.020_000 instead of Generic SWI9X30C_02.20.03.00 RPI 002.017_000). Its still work fine with other sim card. Do i need to re-upgrade?
A very important benefit to my X1 Yoga with em7455 is that firmware 02.23.00.00 finally fixes the GPS. Previously, under 02.20.03.00, the GPS would stop working after a few minutes if the mobile data connection was used simultaneously. Now it keeps on producing fixes.
