Does MC7354 expose AT COM port?

I’m looking into working with the MC7354 for a custom drive-test solution paired with JDSU’s E6474A drive test software. This requires exposure of the DM and AT ports under the “Ports (COM & LPT)” section of the Windows device manager.

We’ve used the Sierra Wireless 313U in the past with success, but we’re looking into the MC7354 now and I’ve learned that even with drivers installed (from here: source.sierrawireless.com/resour … uild-4208/) it only seems to expose the DM port. Is there any way to get the AT Port exposed here as well?

Thanks in advance!

hi,
For MC7354, AT port will enumerate as Sierra Wireless WWAN modem under modems in device manager.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi! Please help! MC7354 does not expose nor COM port nor modem. It says that modem is not connected. But Skylight works ok. Please help me, how do I send AT Commands?

Hi,
Did you install the corresponding driver version mentioned in the related items?

Thanks,
Alex

yes, I did install this driver: source.sierrawireless.com/resour … uild-4277/

that’s strange.

Can you do a fresh installation of the drivers?

removing all the previous drivers and skylight too. then install the driver from http://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/airprime-mc-series-windows-drivers-qmi-build-4277/

Also, the related item :

http://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/development_kits/airprime-mc-series-connection-manager-qmi-build-4202/

Just made a clean install of drivers you sent me. I still cannot see COM port, though Network adapter is installed.

That is really strange…

You uninstall all the drivers available in your PC and restart your PC. Then install the above mentioned drivers and then restart your PC and see if the issue is still there…

Thanks,
Alex

I did this several times already.

Hi,
I guess the module is in MBIM mode :frowning:

Thanks,
Alex

Well, how do I switch it back?

Even I am not sure about that…
Will check and let you know…

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

If the unit is in MBIM mode then you need a specific tools from Sierra to get it out of this configuration. It is quite difficult, once it is setup like this to get it out as there is no generic interface which can set it up i.e. QMI, AT commands, etc.

You are going to need to go via your support channel.

Matt

Hi,

You can follow the post at https://forum.sierrawireless.com/t/my-mc7710-cant-work-on-linux-after-plug-in-it-to-windows8/7986/1

The procedure explained there is working for me and i am able to get the modem converted back to QMI from MBIM only…

Thanks
Alex

The solution worked for me! Thank you very much!!!
