Are there any specifications/guidance from Sierra Wireless describe the flashing process?

Hello, i’ve been trying to find an official Sierra Wireless document that describes the actual flashing sequence/protocol used to update firmware on AirPrime EM/MC-series modules (e.g. reboot into download mode → USB re-enumeration → loader transfer → image transfer → flash write → verification), but I haven’t been able to locate one.

What i have found so far, scattered across different documents:

  • The AT Command Reference (EM74xx/MC74xx) documents.

  • The MBPL Developer’s Guide (Software Integration and Development Guide for Linux USB Platforms, R36).

  • Various forum threads reference tools (fwdwl-lite, qmi-firmware-update, MBPL’s lite-fw) that presumably implement this sequence, but none of the tool pages or release notes I’ve found actually document the underlying protocol steps.

    → So i want to check are there any official doc on this, or people just test and trial? Thank you!

probably you can enable the logging of fw upgrade tool in MBPL and see if there is any useful information for you.
