An important doubt about programming

Hi,

I’m working on a project about a wavecom module, concretly q2501. As I think that the question is about the capabilities of any module and as the forum of this module (q2501) is not very visited, I decided to post the topic in this section of the forum.

The matter: Is it needed an external device to control the module, like a PC or an external microcontroller to manage the operations of the module?. Or it is capable to be managed itself after being programmed with open AT projects?

Forgive me for being so noob about all this.

Yes, the whole point of Open-AT is precisely that it allows you to embed an application within the module - thus obviating the need (in most cases) for an external controller.
