AGPS Support in HL7800 Series?

Hello,
I am having a tough time getting a GNSS fix with the HL7800 module and using an external GNSS antenna. Modules from other manufacturers seem to get a fix just fine inside my house, but not the HL7800. I am wondering what can be done to improve the sensitivity? Also wondering if AGPS support is available which may help my situation.

Any thoughts or anyone else noticing poor GNSS performance?

Hi @tremmert1

Which firmware version are you using?

If the firmware version is 4.x or earlier, you can enter the commands below to get a GNSS fix with the HL7800.
AT+CFUN=4
AT+GNSSSTART=0

AGPS is not mentioned in AirPrime - HL78xx - AT Commands Interface Guide rev 12.

Hello Donald,
Thank you for the reply. I am able to get a GPS fix, but the module needs to be in a location with a clear view of the sky. Other modules that I have tested can be inside my house and still work. However, the HL7800 is having a hard time getting a position fix inside.

I assumed AGPS would help…

Hi @tremmert1

AGPS is not currently implemented on the HL7800. It will be supported in future HL78xx firmware releases.
