Advanced firewall capability

We are using “Trusted IPs—Inbound (Friends)”. Would like to restrict certain port access to some “friends”, while allow others to have full access. Is that possible in the RV50X?

Hi cmccann,

Trusted IPs—Inbound (Friends) —Inbound restricts access to the AirLink gateway and all LAN connected
devices. When enabled, IP packets with a source address not matching those in the list or range of trusted hosts will be ignored/dropped by the gateway.

Yes, You can use Port Filtering—Inbound restricts unsolicited access to the AirLink gateway and all LAN-connected devices. You can enable Port Filtering to either block or allow specified ports. When enabled, all ports not matching the rule are allowed or blocked depending on the mode.
You can configure Port Filtering either on individual ports or for a range of ports. Click Add More for each port filtering rule you want to add.

Hello Donald,

Two IPs need to access the site LAN via the RV50.

One IP needs unrestricted access to the LAN, or we could create a bunch of PF rules.

The second IP needs to be constrained to only access one port on the LAN.

I don’t see that capability in the current firmware. Am I missing something?

Hi cmccann ,

You cannot configure it to allow a port on one IP and block it on another IP.
