WP7607 failed after update

Hello all,

Hopefully someone with a better understanding of the product than I can dig me out of this hole I find myself in.

I updated a WP7607 using the R17.exe which is still installed in it’s associated machine which is running Win 10 x64 LTSC. At the start it was on “02.18.05.00 000000 Jenkins 2018/07/19 17:40:21” with GENERIC_002.041_004.

After running the installed it failed with an error stating “failed in checking modem mode” even though it appeared to complete correctly. I’ve tried running earlier versions of the .exe right back to 10.1.0.1 but this fails too stating:
Primary error code: 14 - No MBN adapter available
Secondary error code : 0 - Not applicable.
Device error code: 0x0 - Unknown device error code.

I’ve downloaded Legato software, WP760X Release 12 (Legato 18.10.3), Virtual box 5, Java etc, and installed it. I’ve tried the recovery process which appears to install correctly with whichever version is available but this too fails.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

here says you need to first go to R16.3 before going to R17:

BTW, have you installed the correct USB driver?

Hello and thanks for taking the time to respond.

Okay, clearly I missed that. My bad, however does this mean it’s unrecoverable?

As for the driver, yes it’s running version 5087.

Any suggestions?

Regards.

what is the current version now?
Is it able to enumerate AT port for entering AT command?

If yes, what is the response on the following?

ATI3
ati8
at!entercnd="A710"
AT!usbcomp?
AT!usbcomp=?

At present it won’t enumerate.

It will present a DM port when running a .exe and it usually stays present in device manager after.

you can extract the R16.3 exe by 7zip.
After that you can open a command prompt to the new folder and type “fdt2.exe WP76xx_Release16.3_GENERIC.spk”

Okay, I’ll do that and report back.

Again, many thanks for your time.

If R16.3 exe does not work, you might also need to try R17 exe with the same method in command prompt as currently I have no idea what firmware is inside the module

Greetings!

That worked perfectly first time. I extracted R16.3 first, ran it via CMD prompt l and it sailed through. Once it had enumerated correctly i ran the R17.exe and sure enough, it too sailed through.

Many thanks for your help.

Kind regards.
