We are currently testing the HL7812 EVK and would like your guidance on validating cellular network connectivity and data services. Our team is testing from Shanghai, China, where have live networks are available.

We have a few queries related to testing and configuration:

  1. What is the recommended procedure to test 2G, 3G, and 4G network connectivity on the HL7812 EVK?
  2. Are there specific AT commands to configure or switch between different network modes (2G/3G/4G)?
  3. Is there any reference documentation or application note available for network configuration and testing on HL7812?
  4. What is the recommended way to verify internet connectivity, such as ping tests or data session validation?
  5. Could you please share any sample AT command sequences or references for network registration and data testing?

The module does not support 3G network , so you cannot test 3G

What network do you have in shanghai? Cat-m or nbiot?

You can use at+ksrat to configure different technology, and you can use at+cereg command to check network registration status.

Btw, your firmware is quite old, please upgrade it

We are currently testing the HL7812 EVK with a China SIM card that supports 2G and 4G networks only (Cat-M and NB-IoT are not supported by the SIM). We would like your guidance on validating 2G and 4G data connectivity when the module is interfaced with a host processor.

since catM and NBIOT is not supported by your sim, so you cannot test 4G

Please check if your SIM card can support 2G and put it in your mobile phone to set to 2G only and see if it can register network in your location.

For the testing for HL7812, you can use at+ksrat to configure to 2G, and you can use at+cereg command to check network registration status.
