I have an MC7430 module and I am trying to establish a PPP connection with Linux Mint 19.1. The modem module is connected to a USB3.1 port. Identically I would like to use the nmcli or mmcli tool.
What I’ve tried is to follow the instructions of the AirPrime - HL78xx - Establishing a PPP Session with a Linux Host documentation (renaming the HL78 to MC74) but what happened is to see with nmcli device a ppp0 device which was never connected and after a while it was disappeared. At the /dev directory we can see the ttyUSB0, ttyUSB1 and ttyUSB2 devices.
Thank you jyijyi very much for your reply. We need to send IoT modules to countries where QMI is not supported as our SIM provider tells us and we should change to a PPP solution. I will try to test with wvdial.
