Power consumption and working modes in Q2687RD

Hi everybody,

I’m trying to understand what is the power consumption of Q2687RD in ACTIVE mode and openAT application is running…

I believed that power consumption decreases if at+cfun=0 or at+cfun=4 command is sent because radio and SIM card are turned off.

Instead I see that the current drawn by the module is the same (about 20mA at 4.2V); I get the same result even if application is not running.

Is SLEEP mode the only way to have power consumpion reduced?
However, using that mode GPIO, UART,ecc. are unavailable…

Is there any way to let the module to be available for incoming calls and sms BUT with harware resources available(at least GPIOs)?
Or should I use an externl microprocessor (so letting OpenAT advantage useless)?

Thanks
Davide

surely, power consumption goes down when in sleep mode…
i’ll confirm about the CFUN modes… but seems like only sleep mode is there…

will check…

Thanks
Rex…
