The text has the following

Reading Simple Sensors
The steps below illustrate how to read data from the GPS sensor in an Edge Action
 and send the data to the cloud.

Note: Before you continue, you must first have an Observation that reads from the 
 /location/coordinates/value Resource, and has been set set to Send to an
 Edge Action.

And then proceeds to talk about light sensor data

8. Click the Example tab. Octave provides a number of example scripts
 that you can use as a starting point.

9. Select Example > Show the light value on LCD

Or have I misunderstood something?

Hi John, this is an error in the doc. Good catch, will fix this.
