Does "XCELLINFO" works without SIM on HL7692?

Hi,
I was looking for the command that would give me network scan without SIM for HL7692.The AT command manual describes “KCELL” and “XCELLINFO” for the same. However “KCELL” is said to be used with SIM,but there is no such note for “XCELLINFO”.so does it return correct result without SIM ?

@ACHAL,

So at+x commands come directly from the chipset command stack where at+k commands are what Sierra has implemented, there won’t be a note because we do not know but with kcell we do because we control/coded it. If you try it and it works great but there aren’t necessarily any guarantees.

I would stick with kcell if it gives you what you want.

HI,
I tried with “Kcell” after inserting SIM and following was observed:-
AT+KCELL?
OK
AT+KCELL=?
+KCELL: 0

OK

AT+KCELL=0
ERROR

How to get responses for this ?
The syntax for third command is "AT+KCELL= " but it returns ERROR.How can we use this ?

@ACHAL,

If you just inserted the SIM then the unit will not have detected it and the command will fail.

at+cpin?
+CPIN: READY

OK
at+kcell=0
+KCELL:8,5,23415,0024B014,313,24602,46,11,-1,6,189C,313,46,11,6,189C,42,44,8,6,189C,38,48,16,6,189C,307,41,9,6,189C,314,38,0,6,189C,137,42,4,6,189C,36,30,0

OK

Hi,
Following are the logs for the same. The sim is being shown in ready ,however error is still reported with “AT+KCELL=0”.
+SIM: 1

+KSUP: 0
AT+CPIN ?
+CPIN: READY

OK
AT+KCELL=0
ERROR

+PBREADY
AT+KCELL=0
ERROR

Is this because of any other possible configuration settings ?

Thanks
Achal

@ACHAL,

Try the following

at+cgmr
at+cmee=1
at+cpin?
at+creg?
at+cgreg?
at+cereg?
at+cops?
at+kcell=0

Matt

Hi,
Tried following:-
SIM: 1

+KSUP: 0

+PBREADY
at+cgmr
AHL769x.2.10.154401.201609141850.x7120m_2

OK
at+cmee=1
OK
at+cpin?
+CPIN: READY

OK
at+creg?
+CREG: 0,3

OK
at+cgreg?
+CGREG: 0,3

OK
at+cereg?
+CEREG: 0,0

OK
at+cops?
+COPS: 2

OK
at+kcell=0
+CME ERROR: 30

The network registration is denied as seen from “at+creg?” respose. when “at+cops=0,0” is fired ,response says “ABORTED”.

Also “at+kbnd?” shows 000000 indicating “No Band”
