Custom defconfig yocto

i created custom yocto level in yocto/meta-mylevel/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-quic_git.bbappend
FILESEXTRAPATHS_prepend := “${THISDIR}/files:”
SRC_URI += “file://defconfig”
the purpose of append to create custom defconfig
i dont see it is copied into mdm9607_defconfig when building
defconfig located in yocto/meta-mylevel/recipes-kernel/linux/files
please help to find out!!!

how about directly modifying ./kernel/arch/arm/configs/mdm9607_defconfig file?

if i put it in my custom level i dont have dependencies on kernel source
i did before for others cpu’s

I have seen someone modifying like this.
Not sure if this helps you or not.
