AT+CGATT=1 -> Error

Hi!

I’m using the firmware version 7.44 on a XTEND FXT009 EDGE. When I connect by serial port and try to execute command AT+CGATT=1 just waits for a few seconds and answers with error.

I’m trying to initiate the gprs stack, is there any way to do it instead of this one?

Thank you!

Are you using a working SIM card with subscription and works ok on cell phone?
If the SIM detected and working in XTEND and GSM able to register?

Try to send AT+CMEE=1 before AT+CGATT=1 which give you the error code.
and send below after the failure.
AT+CPIN? AT+CREG?

GPRS Attach is automatically done during GPRS Activate or dialup…
Not sure your particular usage but which may not needed…

I’m afraid I’m not much familiar with at commands so I really don’t know what these commands are doing. Anyway, this is the output of commands.

AT+CMEE=1
OK
AT+CPIN?
+CPIN: READY
AT+CREG?
+CREG: 0,1

OK
AT+CMEE=0
OK

Thank you

Hi,

Maybe my previous post is not clear enough.
Please try below AT cmd sequence and share the complete response.

AT+CMEE=1
AT+CSQ
AT+CREG?
AT+CGATT=1
AT+CPIN?
AT+CREG?
AT+CEER
AT+CSQ

Thanks.

Ok. Output for the commands is this:

+CSQ: 16,0
+CREG: 0,1
AT + CGATT -> OK(son it seems to be working now. Why? I cannot say… humm)
AT+CPIN? -> READY
+CREG: 0,1
+CERR -> 0(No error?)
CSQ: 17,0

By the way, is it mandatory for CGATT to have the cable plugged? It isn’t the original reason for the failure, but I notice that doing it without cable plugged made CREG returns 148(unrecognized error?) and CEER returns 266…

Hi,
That’s a good news.

BTW, you mentioned “cable”, what exactly it is? Are you saying the antenna or UART/USB cable?

For failure cause, 266, it does not seems to be a valid code.
If in case it is a typo of 226, then it make sense with antenna disconnected as no network signal…
226 - Unsuccessful attach cause NO SERVICE

Yeah! Sorry, I meant the antenna when I was talking about the cable.

Concerning to the error number, it was a typo, you were right, number is 226, so it seems fine, no service because you have no antenna. Is it right?

Correct!
Enjoy using your XTEND. :mrgreen:

I would, but I’m afraid it doesn’t want me to enjoy, lets see this thread:
