A received SMS message in PDU mode contains an SMSC number.
Can this SMSC number be used as the SMSC number for sending a reply to the message?
Basically, I want to avoid having to configure an SMSC number into the unit…
The SMSC in the PDU in a received message is that of the sender. I don’t think it’s safe to rely on being able to use that.
I’ve never had to specify this manually myself, as that information comes into the unit somehow… Through the SIM or through the network, I’m not sure.
So in PDU mode, I can set SMSC length to 0, and let it use that SMSC that it gets from SIM or network.
My experience with UK networks is that some require it to be specifically set, and others don’t seem to care!
