BC127 Error 88 "failcom_connect"

Hi Can anyone give me a clue as to what Error 88 “failcom_connect” during upgrade means?

Thanks
Pete

Pete,

Is this repeatable/recoverable?

Pete,

Just saw your earlier post, can you not use a normal Windows machine rather than a VM?

Hi Thanks for replying, I didn’t get a notification of your reply so have only just seen it.

I have tried with a Windows laptop and had exactly the same result.

If I had any hair I would be tearing it out! ;o)

In which case sorry no idea what the issue might be.

The only other thing I might suggest is tapping into the SPI interface on the unit and using the Blueflash tool that you can download from the CSR support page (https://www.csrsupport.com/), note you will also need to use a CSR USB/SPI interface board as the SPI is CSR proprietary (https://www.digikey.com/products/en/development-boards-kits-programmers/programmers-emulators-and-debuggers/799?k=qualcomm%20SPI).

For me this was due to a hardware problem, particularly power supply levels. I kept getting the failcom_connect error on some modules and not others. The modules were on custom pcbs, powered externally, and connected to TX/RX lines of the USB serial converter on the discovery board. Solution was to power the module from the same board doing the serial comms (discovery board in my case). Just connecting grounds didnt work. However, doing the same using the USB-serial on a PIC explorer board didnt work.
