BC127 discovery issue on iOS

Hi,

When using BC127, I have found that only paired BC127 can be found in bluetooth picker on iOS.

When doing research on our competitive products, I am surprisingly to see that even non-paired devices
can be found in bluetooth picker.

I am wondering if there is a config I need to set to make this happen?

Board: BC127 MFi EVB
FW ver.: 6.0.37
Profiles: SPP/iAP

Best,
Brett

Brett,

I presume you are talking about the BT classic connection? If so what is the status of the unit (it should be discoverable) as you should be able to see the unit when performing a BT scan from the iPhone.

Matt

Hi Matt,

After experiment and document review, it turns out the SPP UUID needs to be set in BC127 configuration.
When setting the SPP UUID to the string specified by Apple, the iOS BT picker can recognize BC127 module.

BUT, since the SPP UUID is changed, not the public used one, then Android cannot setup SPP connection successfully.
When comparing with anther existing dual-mode module, I have found that it employ two attribute records in SDP to allow both Android and iOS
can discover the module.

Could this be implemented in future release?

Brett,

I will ask but to really make it happen you need to push it through your commercial channel so we can tag it to a specific project.

Brett,

Can you try this on a more recent version than 6.0.37 as it is quite old?

Matt

Hi Matt,

The same issue exists in 6.1.5

Brett

Brett,

Who is your commercial channel?
