MC7455 Verizon roaming problem

Hi,

I have two RevC MC7455 modules one with older SWI9X30C_02.20.03.22_00_VERIZON_002.026_001 firmware and one with the latest SWI9X30C_02.24.05.06_00_VERIZON_002.034_000.

I have verizon sim card with static address and I am trying to roam from Canada. Roaming fails as LTE connection cannot be established and attempt to roam in WCDMA fails with a verbose call end reason 239.

Any suggestions on what causes this problem and how to resolve it?

RevB MC7455 with an older firmware (SWI9X30C_02.05.07.00_VERIZON_002.008_003) has no problem establishing LTE connection from the same location using same antenna and same SIM card.

Best regards
Dmitri

Hi

I downgraded FW on the rev C modem to the same version as rev and still have no luck. I cannot get an LTE connection with Verizon image. Genric image works fine in LTE
I verified pdp settings on both modems and they seem to be correct.

Looks like something is missing in configuration to make a connection to the Verizon network.

Hello Dmitri,

Remember me from this thread? https://forum.sierrawireless.com/t/mc7354-on-verizon-network/8821/1

Heh. It’s been a long time, no?

I’m still on the MC7354, so may not apply to you, but what I discovered was that the “IPV4V6” contexts don’t reliably work with our IPV4 stack. What I’ve found to work is change context 1 to “IP”, then enable context 10 & 11 – on the MC7354 those are already type “IP”. YMMV. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
