no cellular service for em7455 with window10!

I have a long pain to let my AT&T sim card work with em7455. At first, install recent em7455 driver with PC, showed and detected perfect “sierra wireless em7455” under driver manger. But no service and connection got. ATT sim card information and telephone number can be seen from mobile network property, the same issue even with skylight install ed. I guess the problem still come from EM7455. My att sim tested in ipad has service and connection. But while it put into adapter directly connect to USB port of Window10 PC, no cellar service and connection.let em7455 switch to generic FW and MBIM mode. tested again and no service still got.100% sure that em7455 is under generic FW, right ATT APN and Mibm mode. no problem to detect em7455 with device manager, every com port open, ATi communication works. . So strange!

Including the following em7455 configuration from AT commands

ATT apn is “broadband”, I put
at+cgdcont=1,“ipv4v6”,“broadband”

Hello,

Which hardware have you installed ? I’ve both EM/MC7455 installed on DELL E7270/E7240 running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit/Ubuntu 17.04 without any issues. You can try taping pins #8 on EM7455.

Hello,

Please do test in command prompt as below:

netsh mbn sh int
netsh mbn sh read int=*
netsh mbn sh rad int=*
netsh mbn sh cap int=*
netsh mbn sh vis int=*
netsh mbn sh read int=*

Regards,

On MC7455, you have to be running “AT&T” firmware. Generic will not connect. I assume it would be the same on EM.

Technically the firmware is the same, just the PRI is different, but it has to be AT&T. I would check that first based on what you wrote.

Post your at!impref? command

Thanks for your help. My story began from getting one lenovo em7455. Following the following instruction, I tried to let it work with one non-lenovo windows 10 PC or flashed Rooter FW router that supports EM/EC7455.:

  1. put in USB adapter. install em7455 with one Thankpad laptop.
  2. Then enter these commands to change to generic and mibm mode:
    AT!ENTERCND=“A710”
    AT!USBPID=9071,9070
    AT!USBVID=1199
    AT!PRIID=“9904609”,“002.117”,“GENERIC”
    AT!IMAGE=0
    AT!RESET
Boot back into non-lenovo windows, install Sierra Wireless generic drivers 4581 from source. sierrawireless.com, and flash with “SWI9X30C_02.24.03.00_00_GENERIC_002.021_000” firmware.
  3. set ATT APN
looks everything prefect. But no service and connect. found windows automatically installed lenovo mobile broadband INF package to start em7455, also switch back ATT FW. Details:

Hi,

Could you check below AT commands.

AT!GSTATUS?

Believe AT!USBCOMP can be changed to USBCOMP=1,1,100D (for MBIM) or 1,1,50D (for QMI).

Hi,

I just want to give some information. I’ve tested my MC7455 on DELL E7240 running win 10 64 bit for all netsh mdm related commands where result as below :

netsh mbm sh int
.
.
.
Signal : 0%

netsh mbn sh rad int=*
State : SIM not inserted

I believe same as yours. That why signal shows 0%.

Thanks again! I tested again.

I found : for em/ec7455 at!usbcomp=1,1,1009 (for MBIM mode just I did), at!usbcomp = 1,1,10d (for QMI) , at!usbcomp=1,1,100d (to expose the NMEA port)

i have no problem to read all information from ATT sim card (window 10 or netsh mbn sh read int=*:). But don’t know why signal zero?

Hi,

looks like even though it shows LTE but “no band” was found. Below is from my MC7455 on windows 10 pro 64 bit

These all from me and believe other members could provide more help precisely.

In my first post, I can found LTE band, but don’t know why service be limited?

Finally I fixed my no service issue. very simple, re-checked both antenna connections. tried to flash the generic ATT FW. Then, everything works well on window10 PC. Found band 12 and 2. even em7455 directly worked with my flashed Rooter router. one only problem is that the cellular signal has only 48%. maybe need better antenna. Thanks zainol69, kiltym for your help.

Hey cjtct, Did you able to increase your cellular signal? I am getting only 40% signal.I am also thinking to develop a wireless cellular camera. Don’t know it possible or not. I am looking for total guide and solution for this type problem.

Hi All.

I have a ThinkPad P50 with the same issue, EM7455 is stated as turned off.

How do i run AT commands from Win10? ?

Sorry …total noob here

Do you install the usb driver in win10?
If yes, you can use tera term to open modem port to enter
AT command

Dont think I have installed any USB drivers.

So basically i got this Lenovo P50 laptop from another person…the person just uses it for normal office stuff.

There’s a sim card slot which i found out is an EM7455 from device manager.

Inserted the SIM … and it states my network operator, but it’s greyed out and says turned off.

Tried all i can from drivers and such…and found this post!..

So yeah…total noob in this specific area.

Then go to source.sierrawireless.com to download and usb driver and skylight

Alright all done

Still the same

Skylight states radio is turned offskylight

Do you have modem port in device manager?

Nope i dont have any modem port in Device Manager

Seems to be same issue.
