MC7455 cannot be detected by router

I have several cradlepoint IBR1100LP6 routers that use the MC7455 internal modems. The MC7455 went bad in one of the routers and was replaced with a new MC7455. Now, the router cannot detect the modem.

I contacted Cradlepoint who would offer no assistance since the 1 year warranty was up.

I thought perhaps the MC7455 firmware would have to be updated using the cradlepoint modem firmware. But I am unsure how to perform the update since the cradlepoint modem firmware is in a mdm file format (m_LP6_GN_02_20_03_00.mdm) and it cannot be performed via the router since it cannot detect the modem.

I also removed a MC7455 from a working IRB100LP6 to check what USBCOMP being used:

And, to check other configurations that I thought may show the problem:

Am I missing something here?

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get this router to detect the new MC7455 modem (or how to update the new MC7455 firmware with the mdm file)?

Thanks!

Whats the USB mode of the new modem?

Maybe its in QMI mode, instead of MBIM.

The new MC7455 shows the same mode (50D) as the MC7455 from the working Cradlepoint.

This doesn’t help, but I have a Cradlepoint CBA850, and it shows all the same output that you show, including the firmware software versions for the different carriers.

Although you don’t say, I’m sure you ruled out the router itself being bad.

I’ll be watching this thread out of curiosity.

The router functions properly with the MC7455 installed from the working router.
