Upgrade Firmware from R7.51.0 to R7.52.0 failed

Hello,

We use modem FXT009.
Due to error message in communication with modem, we have to upgrade firmware.
Default FW in stored in modem´s is FW R7.47.4. I succefully upgrade FW from R7.47.4 to R7.47.6 and to 7.51.0.
When i try to upgrade FW from 7.51.0 to 7.52.0, modem sent error message:

This message from modem is sent when 935kB from1390kB is uploaded (from hyperterminal to modem).
Could you help me to solve this issue ?
If you will need more detailed information about uploading proces, dont hesitate to tell me.

Preconditions:

1. modem is to PC connected via com cabel
2. modem is uploaded vith bootloader V10c05
3. operating system of PC where is modem connected is win XP
4. connection is realized via hyperterminal

Petr,

Can you send at+wopen=6 and at+wopen=9 to the unit and tell me the result? Also do you have the ability to use the boot line on the 15 way connector? With this you can use the DWLWin tool which is by far the safest way to upgrade firmware rather than using X modem.

Yes we have a “boot line on the 15 way connector” but I an not shure if I understand procedure of upgrading via DWLWin. (On the sierra web site there I found only FW with *. dwl files.
I read that for use DWLWin is necessary have FW with *.bin files but this type of files I can not find on the sierra web sited.

If you contact who you bought it through then they should be able to get the file for you (assuming they are an official distributor). I cannot post it here because it is too big.

I have to check this info (who is our distributor)

But this mean that is not way how to upgrade to R7.52.0 via Xmodem ? (previous versions were OK via Xmodem)

You can but can you send the commands I asked for previously? Doing it with DWLWin is just easier if you have it set up.

Petr,

Think that might be the problem, R7.51 has A&D + filesystem, where R7.52 only has the file system and I think it needs to be initialised

Can you see if the below returns anything different.

at+cmee=1
at+wopen=6
at+wopen=9
at+wopen=9,1500

Need to check what needs to be done to initialise the filesystem if this does not. Can you connect it to developer studio or do you not use Open AT?

1. I newer work with developer studio before, but I can try it.
   I try to install this software, but in step “Select yout hardware module from the list” in installer, I dont know which type I have to select (Q268X, Q2698, FX100…).

2. What do you mean " or do you not use Open AT ?" ? Is somewhere another FW than Open AT from this sites ? http://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/firmware-package-7,-d-,52_open-at-version/

The fact that you are getting errors to the wopen commands regarding memory is not a good sign. Did you originally take this unit from R7.4x to R7.5x via X modem?
