Can't upgrade FXT009 from 7.51 to 7.52

I successfully upgraded from 3 previous versions using xmodem however it always fails at about 946kb when going from 7.51 to 7.52

any suggestions, im out of ideas?

Best way to upgrade units is to use the DWLWin tool and the boot pin, you can go between firmware versions far more easily than using X modem (although this is the most convenient). To go from R7.51 to R7.52 I think you need to use an intermediate release as the memory map changed significantly hence the best/safest way is to not use X modem.

Thanks for that suggestion, I’m not sure the boot pin will be available to me as all plumbed into an enclosure with a dedicated cable.

Isd the intermediary version available anywhere?

You need to get hold of the intermediate version through you distributor.

Going back to the actual problem does it just hang when you are loading the main part of the firmware? I presume you have downloaded dwl.dwl first? Also what are the below settings?

ati9
at+wopen?
at+wopen=9
at+wdwl?

I will check those settings later, however it stops at about the same file size every time, however loading older firmware it goes above that file size before completing successfully.

But yes I run:
dwl.dwl first then at+cfun=1 then at+wdwl and try to load the new one.

Ive done this OK on another unit without the intermediate version, although I seem to remember it may have taken 2 attempts. Ive tried this unit several times, same failure point every time.

Also I dont have a distributor, this is something thats been sat in a box for a few years,

So why are you upgrading it now?

Matt

I want to use the extended AT provision with 7.52 to allow FTP usage

FTP should be in the previous versions as well.

I would like to get rid of the stanley stuff, is that saying there is an application still on here?

OK success, i uploaded the AT extended framework first which got rid of the stanley stuff, then tried the 7.52 which worked first time
