# WinCE 6 RAS Dial

How do I get WinCE 6 RAS to dial using a specified phone number? I want to connect to the cellular network using PPP. I have 3 problems:

1. RAS wants to send ATZ, but I need to initialize the modem myself, before RAS dials. I don’t want to change a registry setting that will affect other modems, especially a Unimodem.

2. Cellular modem commands can take a long time to complete. I need to lengthen the timeout, again without other modems or devices.

3. My device has no user interface. I need to specify the dial string some other way. Just for the record, the dial string is “_99_\*\*1#”.
