We need to move from wp7603-1 to wp7611-1 module. The two modules belong to different variants. I don’t have any wp7611-1 part available yet.

Let’s assume that POWER\_ON\_N of wp7611-1 is externally asserted via pull-down resistor. Is there a way to shut down the module via software?

Have you tried at!powerdown command?

Unfortunately, I cannot try anything yet. I’m just at the point of studying the differences between modules and estimating the amount of changes needed in firmware.

According to the spec, AT!POWERDOWN command will restart the module if POWER\_ON\_N is asserted as wp7611 belongs to group B variants. I don’t know if POWER\_ON\_N can somehow be modified internally by wp76xx software. Our current design relies on SAFE\_PWR\_REMOVE signal from wp76xx in order to remove VBAT power supply.

POWER\_ON\_N is input pin, you need to control it externally

If my understanding is correct, the state of POWER\_ON\_N signal is (or can be) somehow controlled internally while the module is in active mode (as indicated by the timing sequence below). I don’t know about the details.

In any case, I wanted to check if there is a way to initiate shut down of module from software while POWER\_ON\_N pin is asserted - using at!powerdown command or any other way.

not quite see any solution as it violates what specification mentioned
