If I have the ability to open QPST port would it be possible to achieve Sierra firmware update via this port? Are there any alternative to running the Sierra updater exe file

Hi,
Yes, you can update the FW using QPST also.
You can go to start clients->software download and then provide the “.mbn” file. I dont think you will find this file on dev zone.
Other than this, you can use FDT tool which uses .spk files or binary updater tool which uses .cwe files
