Does anyone know if there is a risk of getting thrown off the network if an OpenAT app sends a lot of SMS messages ? My app sends messages to configured recipients whenever a serial event is detected. On rare occasions there can be a lot of recipients and a lot of events in quick succession, resulting in hundreds of messages.

If you breach the terms of the service agreement on your SIM, I guess that could happen (note any “acceptable use” restrictions).
Rather than have the device send lots of SMS, wouldn’t it be better to have the device notify a “server”, and the “server” send the messages via a proper Bulk SMS service…?

Yes, I think you’re right. It was never intended to send this many messages, but rather has evolved this way, and now needs a rethink.
